Where it all began
Mid 2018 and a conversation began between my wife and I on the topic of country living. Something we both enjoyed the thought of and loved the escapism of programs such as Escape to the Chateau. But was it just a dream?
This blog came from my experiences. Being a Firefighter by day and the rest of the time, a keen and passionate outdoors enthusiast, not only do I want to be able to share and record this journey of our dream but to also shares tips and ideas for your outdoor space, whether that is a small holding with numerous acres or a small balcony which you would like to turn into a grow your own mini allotment, there is something for everyone.
We are a family of 4, Mum, Dad & our 3 year old daughter & 18 month old daughter along with Ruby the dog, our 12 year old Yorky Poo, Chip, our 6 month old cat and numerous chickens! This list will be growing over the coming months and years as we expand.
After that conversation took place, that's when we decided that it was a real possibility that actually we could deliver on that and begin a new life in the country. 2019 and our second daughter was born in the April. The summer of that year we were actively online perusing the market place and viewed a number of properties, none of which felt right and didn't feel like home.
Then came 2020 and what a year!
We finally moved to the Shropshire Hills in October 2020 just before lockdown 2.
